Turn any article into audio
Paste the link to an article and tta1 reads the story aloud in a natural voice, leaving out menus, ads, cookie banners and comments.
Pick from 30 voices and 25 languages, and it translates first if the article is in a language you don't read.
How it works
- 1
Paste the article link
Copy the address from your browser or a share sheet and paste it in.
- 2
Choose a voice
30 natural voices, each with a preview, in 25 languages.
- 3
Press Listen
The first audio plays within seconds while the rest of the article is prepared.
What gets turned into audio
Only the article
tta1 finds the body of the page and reads that. Navigation, ads, sidebars, cookie banners and comment threads are left out.
Headings and structure
Headings and paragraphs are read in order with natural pauses, so a long piece still sounds like one story.
Long reads
A single reading can be up to 16,666 words, enough for most long-form features and reports.
Any language
The article's language is detected automatically. Choose another one under "Read in" and it's translated before it's read.
Audio that fits around your day
Turning an article into audio means you can finish it while your eyes and hands are busy: on a walk, in the car, while cooking or at the gym. tta1 runs in the browser, so it works on your phone and laptop with nothing to install.
The player keeps going on the lock screen, skips back 15 seconds or forward 30, and changes speed from 0.5× to 2.5× without making the voice sound chipmunky. Every article you convert is saved to your library, so you can come back to it and pick up where you stopped.
Free to start
A free account gets 1,000 words of audio every month for links, X threads and pasted text, with no card needed. Plus ($6 a month) and Pro ($12 a month) give you more words and add PDF, Word and screenshot uploads and MP3 downloads. See pricing
Frequently asked questions
Is the audio a recording of the original article?
No. tta1 reads the article's text with an AI voice, so you hear exactly what's written on the page, minus the clutter around it.
How long does it take to convert an article to audio?
Audio starts in a few seconds, even for long articles. tta1 prepares the opening first and generates the rest while you listen.
What about pages behind a login or paywall?
tta1 can only fetch pages that anyone can open without signing in. For anything else, copy the text and paste it into tta1 instead, and it's read aloud the same way.
