tta1

Turn any web page into audio

Blogs, newsletters, documentation and guides: paste the page link and tta1 reads the main text aloud.

The page furniture (menus, ads, sidebars, cookie banners and comments) is left out, so you only hear what's worth reading.

Paste a link

Next, pick a voice. Listening needs a free account.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste the page address

Any public page that opens without signing in.

  2. 2

    tta1 finds the main text

The readable part of the page is kept and everything around it is dropped.

  3. 3

    Listen

Pick a voice and language, then play it back at 0.5× to 2.5×.

Pages that work well

  • Blogs and essays

Personal blogs, company blogs and long-form essays.

  • Newsletters

The web version of a newsletter issue, without the subscribe boxes.

  • Docs and guides

Documentation, how-tos and help articles, read section by section.

  • Reference pages

Encyclopedia entries and explainers you'd rather listen to than skim.

Why not just use a screen reader?

Screen readers are built to navigate a page, so they announce links, buttons and menus along the way. That's essential for getting around, but tiring when you just want to hear an article. tta1 pulls out the readable text first, then reads it in a natural voice from start to finish.

Pages in another language are translated before they're read, and every page you convert is saved to your library to replay later.

Free to start

A free account gets 1,000 words of audio every month for links, X threads and pasted text, with no card needed. Plus ($6 a month) and Pro ($12 a month) give you more words and add PDF, Word and screenshot uploads and MP3 downloads. See pricing

Frequently asked questions

Which pages can't be read?

Pages behind a login or paywall, and pages that block automated access. Copy the text and paste it into tta1 instead.

Will it read image captions and code?

tta1 reads the main text of the page. Images, videos and embedded widgets are skipped, so pages that are mostly images won't have much to read.

What about pages behind a login or paywall?

tta1 can only fetch pages that anyone can open without signing in. For anything else, copy the text and paste it into tta1 instead, and it's read aloud the same way.
