Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
tta1 is operated by PIXEL ONLINE, ABN 34 297 542 192 ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account and make your readings, and nothing more.
- Your readings are private to you. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
- Uploaded files are processed and then discarded. We keep the extracted text and audio until you delete the reading.
- We don't use analytics or advertising trackers. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password if you sign up with email. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Your readings: the links and text you submit, the text we extract from pages and uploads, any translations, the generated audio, the page's cover image, and details such as the title, language, voice and length.
- Uploads: PDFs, Word documents, text files and screenshots you upload are read to extract their text and are not stored afterwards. Only the extracted text is kept, as part of the reading.
- Preferences and usage: your chosen voice, language and speed, your plan, and how many words you've used.
- Billing: if you buy a plan or top-up, Stripe collects your payment details. We receive your subscription status and purchase history, not your full card number.
- Technical information: like most websites, our servers and hosting providers record basic request details such as IP address, browser type and time of access, to keep tta1 secure and working.
How we use it
- to create your account and sign you in;
- to fetch, extract, translate and read aloud the content you submit, and to keep your library of readings;
- to remember your preferences and track your word allowance;
- to process payments and manage subscriptions;
- to answer your questions, and to send messages about your account, billing or changes to our terms;
- to prevent abuse, fix problems and comply with the law.
We don't sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your readings to train AI models.
Who we share it with
To run tta1 we rely on a small number of service providers. They process information on our behalf and only for the purposes below:
- OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to (including Google): the text of your readings, and your uploaded files, are sent to AI models to read text from PDFs and screenshots, translate it, and generate the spoken audio.
- Cloudflare: fetches the web pages you link to and stores generated audio and cover images.
- Stripe: handles payments, subscriptions and invoices.
- Google: signs you in, if you choose Continue with Google.
- Our hosting and database providers: run the website and store account and reading data.
When you submit a link, the website you link to will see a request from our fetching service, not from you. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or ourselves.
Information sent overseas
Several of our providers store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and in other countries where they operate data centres. We choose providers with strong security practices and take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
tta1 uses cookies only to keep you signed in and secure your session. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages to process payments and prevent fraud. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Readings, including their text, translations, audio and cover, are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting a reading removes all of these.
- Account details and preferences are kept until you delete your account.
- Billing records held by Stripe, such as invoices, are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after your account is deleted.
Security
Connections to tta1 are encrypted, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and readings can only be opened from the account that made them. No service can be perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
Your choices and rights
- You can see and delete your readings at any time in the app.
- You can change your voice, language and speed, and manage or cancel your plan, from your Account page.
- You can delete your account from your Account page. This deletes your account details, preferences and readings straight away.
- You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing [email protected].
We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law (such as the GDPR), and we'll honour those requests too.
Children
tta1 isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information without a parent or guardian's consent. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let you know by email or in the app.
Contact and complaints
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email [email protected]. We'll try to resolve your concern promptly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
